Located on the shore of beautiful Lake Pupuke on Auckland’s North Shore, the North Shore Canoe Club offers access to one of New Zealand’s iconic lakes as a premier training and recreational paddling waterway. The North Shore Canoe Club has a long history of being home to some of New Zealand’s greatest paddlers across the sprint, marathon and multisport disciplines.
The Club is home to the majority of Canoe Racing New Zealand’s High Performance Squad and New Zealand Team, as well as a few of the National coaches. The legends of the Club include kayaking greats, Olympians Ian Ferguson and Paul MacDonald, followed by more recent Olympians Lisa Carrington, Ben Fouhy, Steven Ferguson and Erin Taylor. The multisport elite include Coast to Coast’s legend Gordon Walker. North Shore Canoe Club is proud of its reputation as both a high performance centre as well as an ideal base for those that just love to paddle at whatever level!
We welcome all levels of abilities to the Club from complete novice to elite, from those who have never touched a kayak to those that live in their kayaks! North Shore Canoe Club is a friendly, welcoming environment with a great facility in a tranquil spot in the middle of New Zealand’s biggest city!
